Am Beispiel der deutschsprachigen Schweiz untersucht Michèle Hofmann die nachhaltige Einflussnahme von Ärzten - als Vertreter einer zunehmend naturwissenschaftlich orientierten Medizin - auf die Volksschule. Sie zeichnet nach, wie diese Entwicklung zur Ausgestaltung einer Vielzahl schulhygienischer Maßnahmen führte, darunter etwa adäquat konstruiertes Schulmobiliar, gut beleuchtete Klassenzimmer, angemessene Dauer der Unterrichtseinheiten sowie regelmäßige ärztliche und zahnärztliche Untersuchungen der Schülerinnen und Schüler. |
