| Summary, etc | Im Zuge von Weltgeschichtsschreibung, Transnationalisierungsforschung und „neuen“ Area Studies ist die im deutschsprachigen Raum vertretene historische Teildisziplin Osteuropäische Geschichte zum einen unter Legitimationszwang geraten, zum anderen aber von eben diesen global orientierten Forschungsrichtungen als paradigmatischer Prototyp entdeckt worden. Im Kontext von Bezugsrahmen wie „Eurasien“ und „zweiter Welt“, ja selbst „Europa“ oder „nördliche Hemisphäre“, ist das Erkenntnispotential der seit hundert Jahren gut etablierten historischen Osteuropaforschung samt ihren Foci auf Ostmitteleuropa, Südosteuropa, Nordosteuropa und den ostslavischen Raum, aber auch auf den Kaukasus und Zentralasien sowie bezüglich der Verflechtung mit anderen Weltregionen, zum einen erkannt wie es zum anderen genutzt wird. Dies gilt nicht zuletzt für die in der besagten Teildisziplin entwickelte Konzeption der Geschichtsregion, welche mittlerweile nicht nur von anderen Europahistorikern, sondern auch von Vertretern weiterer historischer Disziplinen – historische Soziologie, Zivilisationsgeschichtsschreibung, Kunstgeschichtsforschung, Literaturgeschichte, Anthropogeographie u. a. – kreativ adaptiert wird.Der Band belegt sowohl die Sinnhaftigkeit der geschichtsregionalen Konzeption „östliches Europa“ (samt ihren Untergliederungen) im intraregionalen Kontext als auch deren Konstituierung durch die Interaktion mit angrenzenden historischen Meso-Regionen. |
