Summary, etc Jahrzehntelang kämpften Opfer von KZ-Menschenversuchen auf beiden Seiten des Eisernen Vorhangs um Entschädigung und Anerkennung. Dabei blieben die osteuropäischen Überlebenden anders als ihre westeuropäischen Leidensgenossen lange Zeit von allen Leistungen ausgegrenzt. Dies änderte sich erst durch die internationale Aufmerksamkeit für das Verfolgungsschicksal der Gruppe polnischer Frauen, die als Ravensbrueck Lapins bekannt wurden. Ihr Fall trug maßgeblich dazu bei, dass die radikale Ausgrenzung osteuropäischer NS-Verfolgter allmählich aufweichte. Die Studie untersucht am Beispiel der Opfer nationalsozialistischer Humanexperimente die Bedeutung des Ost-West-Konflikts und medialer Inszenierungen für die Politik der Wiedergutmachung.
