Предназначена для научных и инженерно-технических работников проектных организаций.Summary: The problem of utilization of effluent sludges has not recieved due development despite the fact that success in rendering the expensive purification facilities self supporting and, in many respects, in ensuring adequate environmental protection depends on solving this particular problem which is both social and economic. The first small book on sludge utilization written by one of the authors mentioned was published by Stroyizdat in 1979 and republished in 1984 in Czechoslovakia. This book reviews the problem in a considerably wider aspect and is supplemented with new information gathered by the authors from both internal and foreign sources including these published by the authors who participated for many years in the development and implementation of systems for the treatment and utilization of effluent sludges. The authors regard the effluent residues as possible secondary resources of raw material utilization of which has the nationwide importance. The book contains new process schemes illustrated by the examples of using the effluent sludges as marketable products: Fertilizers, feeder products, products obtained by pyrolysis, building materials, commodities and power resources obtained through biogas recovery etc. The book is intended for a wide range of specialists: producmill enginers, designers, researchers.
